Lake house for the Seepark Neubrück.

The task: Design a micro house. Modularly expandable for single households or as a holiday home for small families. A further challenge: an area no larger than 50 sqm with a maximum height of 4 meters starting at the ground level, as one can thus build without a building permit process. That saves tremendous amounts of time and costs.
Our base concept: the foundational plate is embedded one meter into the ground. The total height is increased from 4 to 5 meters. That way, a second level is feasible in the house. 50 sqm thus become 70 sqm.

Because of the direct location by the lake and the old pine grove, the house should be unobtrusively integrated. We wanted to newly interpret the mountain cabin in harmony with nature. With a large window façade and an inconspicuous flat roof. Essential components of the concept are the cladding and the spacious terrace made of massive pine boards, which let the puristic cube blend in with the surrounding nature.

The exterior construction also consistently features wood. The theme: absolutely cozy. Arrive. Feel good and at home. As if the house has always stood there. The open-plan living area with a kitchenette, the kid’s room and the small bathroom with a bath perfectly fulfill their purpose in the smallest space. You sleep under the roof with a view of the lake and the forest. This is where the comfy warmth of the fireplace lingers longest. A lake-side dream. While respecting nature and modular expandability.
